Grant Thornton — Risk Advisory Intern, Summer 2027

Risk Advisory Interns work on client engagements, including:

• Assessing business and information technology processes and system internal controls
• Executing enterprise, operational, information technology, and third-party risk management and compliance programs
• Executing internal audit plans, including information technology internal audits

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Understand, document, and assess client operations, processes, systems, controls, and programs, identifying opportunities for improvement
• Assist with risk assessments to inform enterprise, operational, and third-party risk management projects, programs, and internal audit plans
• Assess transactions, processes, systems, and controls to support SOX and other regulatory compliance and internal audit projects
• Obtain and analyze data, identify trends, and visualize results using commercially available analytics solutions
• Leverage analytics, automation, AI, and other technology to advance understanding, drive project throughput, and deliver client services efficiently
• Build and maintain good working relationships with team members and clients
• Collaborate with team members and clients to understand project approach, manage project risks, execute assigned responsibilities, and recommend process improvements
• Build understanding of relevant industry trends, business objectives, and client operations
• Assist with business development — research, proposal contributions, and related activities
• Participate in firm activities: recruiting, training, officewide activities, and more

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field
• Desire to pursue CPA, PMP, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CAMS, CISM, or another relevant license/certification (preferred)
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Available to travel at least 25% as required
• Ability to work additional hours as needed
• Must be authorized to work in the US without need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future (no sponsorship available for this position)
