What You'll Be Doing
Plus AI helps professionals create presentations faster using AI inside PowerPoint and Google Slides. The company is growing quickly, with thousands of new users every month --- but internal processes haven't scaled as fast as customer demand.
The founders have asked you to design a lightweight system that helps Plus AI handle growth efficiently across three areas:
- Template Production --- As new slide templates roll out weekly, there's no consistent tracking of what's shipped or how they perform.
- Enterprise Onboarding --- Each large customer currently gets a unique onboarding experience, making it hard to measure what's working.
- Revenue & KPI Reporting --- Data for revenue, refunds, and usage comes from multiple systems and is manually consolidated each week.
You have limited engineering time (1 day per week from a developer) and no additional headcount for now.
Create a one-page "Operational Playbook Summary" showing which system you'd build first and how, then record a video walking through your thinking.
Challenge Guidelines
Assessment Format:
- Written Artifact: One-page "Operational Playbook Summary" (create this first)
- Video Response: One continuous recording, 7-10 minutes
- AI Usage Declaration: Required
Written Artifact (1 page max): Create a simple one-page outline that shows:
- The system you would implement first (template tracking, onboarding, or reporting)
- A short process map or description of the MVP
- The 2-3 metrics you'd track to measure success
- One idea for how you'd expand or automate this system over time
Keep it lightweight and practical --- imagine you're sending this to the founders to align on priorities before building.
Video Requirements (7-10 minutes total):
1. Introduction (1-2 minutes) Briefly share one example of a time you helped a team scale a process or system from 0 → 1 --- for example, improving a workflow, setting up analytics, or operationalizing an idea into a repeatable process.
What was ambiguous about it, and how did you turn it into clarity and measurable results?
2. Challenge Response (5-8 minutes) Walk through your artifact and address the three areas outlined in the Challenge Description:
- How you prioritized the work
- How you'd design the system
- How you'd make it repeatable
What You'll Accomplish
Demonstrate systems thinking and ability to prioritize high-impact work
Design scalable processes with limited resources
Apply automation and AI tools strategically
Build repeatable systems that don't require constant oversight
Define and track metrics that indicate system health
How Your Work Will Be Scored
What to Submit
Please submit:
- Written Artifact (1 page): Your "Operational Playbook Summary"
- Video Recording (7-10 minutes): Introduction + walkthrough of your approach
- AI Usage Declaration:
At the end of your video or in a brief note, please include:
☐ I did not use any AI tools
☐ I used AI tools (briefly describe how, including prompts and edits)
