What You'll Be Doing

It's 8:15 AM at a Republic Finance branch in Fort Mill, SC. Your manager is out at a
regional meeting and left you a short list of things that need attention before 11 AM,
when a loan closing is scheduled. You have 30 minutes to review the situation below,
decide what to do first, and explain your reasoning like you're briefing your manager
when she calls in.

THE SITUATION:

  1. A loan file for the 11 AM closing is on your desk. Skimming it, you notice the borrower's ID and the application list slightly different birthdates — a two-digit
    typo, or something worth flagging?
  2. A customer, Mrs. Alvarez, called twice yesterday asking why her loan funding is delayed. She's waiting on a callback.
  3. Your manager's email asks you to pull last week's closed-file audit numbers for the 10 AM regional call.
  4. A walk-in customer is at the counter asking general questions about loan products.

YOUR TASK:
Write a short action plan (a bullet list is fine) that shows:

  • What you'd do first, second, third, and fourth — and why
  • What you'd actually do about the ID/birthdate discrepancy (this is the compliance moment — don't skip it)
  • A short, professional callback message to Mrs. Alvarez (2–4 sentences) explaining the delay without overpromising

Then record a 5 minute video walking through your plan. Tell us how you decided what
came first, and if you used any AI tools, show us one specific moment where you changed
or corrected what the AI gave you.
