Product Manager
About DAT Outgo
At DAT Outgo, we're building a fintech platform that fundamentally understands a carrier's business and optimizes cash flow to help them save money and grow. We're a vertical banking solution that handles invoicing, accounting, factoring, and banking all in one place — replacing exorbitant rates, hidden fees, and long contracts with a single platform built for carriers.
Recently acquired by DAT (the leading freight marketplace with over $1 trillion in transactions), we're at a unique inflection point: startup agility and mission-driven culture, backed by the resources and customer base of an industry leader. We're a 40-person team that puts customers at the center of everything we build.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Product Manager who is energized by ambiguity, ownership, and impact. You'll drive growth and monetization across Outgo's core platform spanning invoicing, factoring, and banking, while influencing how we acquire, activate, and retain customers at scale. You'll work at the intersection of product, engineering, design, and go-to-market, with the rare advantage of building within a startup while leveraging DAT's extensive carrier network and infrastructure.
This is a high-ownership IC role with real surface area. You won't be handed a tidy product area; you'll help build it. Reports to the Director of Product, Fintech & Payments.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to and shape the product roadmap for Outgo's core financial platform, including invoicing, factoring, and banking, driving improvements that make the product faster, smarter, and more valuable for carriers and operations
- Lead end-to-end feature development in partnership with engineering and design, from discovery and scoping through launch and iteration
- Develop a deep understanding of carriers' financial workflows and pain points through customer interviews, data analysis, and hands-on research
- Drive platform and integration initiatives that increase reliability, expand capabilities, and position Outgo as the financial operating system for carriers
- Partner with internal teams including risk and underwriting, sales, support, and operations to identify workflow inefficiencies and build tooling that improves how the team serves customers
- Champion operational efficiency across the platform, identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation to reduce manual work, improve decision-making speed, and scale operations without scaling headcount
- Define and track metrics that reflect platform health and customer value, using data to inform what to build next
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Operations to close the loop between customer feedback and product decisions
- Proactively identify gaps and opportunities across the product and act on them without waiting to be asked
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you'll know you're succeeding when:
- Core growth and monetization metrics are moving in the right direction with clear attribution to your initiatives
- You've shipped meaningful product improvements that carriers notice and value
- Engineering, design, and go-to-market partners trust you as a strategic collaborator
- You've developed a point of view on Outgo's biggest growth opportunities and a plan to go after them
Why Join DAT Outgo
- Mission-driven work: Help carriers, the backbone of our economy, improve their financial health and grow their businesses
- Startup energy, enterprise resources: Enjoy the best of both worlds with Outgo's entrepreneurial culture and DAT's infrastructure and customer base
- Real ownership: High-impact IC role with broad surface area; your work will shape the product and business in measurable ways
- Growth opportunity: Clear path to expand scope and responsibility as we scale
- Collaborative team: Work alongside a talented 40-person team that values execution, customer-centricity, and innovation
Required Qualifications:
- 4 to 6 years of product management experience, with demonstrated ownership of growth, monetization, or core product areas
- Self-starter mindset; comfortable operating with ambiguity, setting your own direction, and driving initiatives to completion
- Strong analytical skills; fluent in data and uses it to inform prioritization, measure impact, and tell a clear story to stakeholders
- Experience working in or alongside a small, fast-moving team where execution matters as much as strategy
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to bring cross-functional partners along without slowing down
- Comfort navigating a startup within a larger organization, working effectively across both cultures
- Fluency with AI tools in day-to-day work
- Track record of driving AI and automation into the products you build
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or logistics
- Familiarity with product-led growth strategies and in-product conversion optimization
- SQL or other data querying skills
