At arrivia, you'll join a highly empowered team reimagining world-class consumer travel experiences. We create impactful, first-class interfaces as measured by our audiences and ourselves. We're also pragmatic and know there's a time to break the pattern and a time to be invisible. You're earlier in your career, but you bring real craft and genuine curiosity about how products look, feel, and behave in the hands of real people. This role is for someone who wants to do great work and grow fast: someone who asks good questions, seeks feedback early, and gets better with every project.
---RESPONSIBILITIES---
- Contribute to consumer journeys: Work across search, discovery, comparison, and decision-making flows for web-based travel products, executing designs within defined journeys and helping identify where experiences create friction for real travelers.
- High-craft: Sweat the details of typography, color, spacing, iconography, and interaction so experiences feel cohesive, trustworthy, and consumer-grade. Develop your eye for when "good enough to ship" is the right call.
- Design storytelling: Communicate your design decisions clearly to your pod (PMs and engineers), articulating the "why" behind your choices and incorporating feedback without losing the intent of your work.
- Design systems thinking: Work within and learn from our design system; understand how components, tokens, and patterns scale across white-labeled product variants so your work fits coherently across multiple brands and markets.
- Data-informed thinking: Build your design instincts through analytics and customer feedback; work alongside PMs and researchers to understand user behavior and use what you learn to make your interfaces better.
- Close to the customer: Stay connected to travelers' needs through research sessions, customer feedback, and behavioral data. Learn how to partner effectively with researchers and PMs to translate insights into design decisions.
- Ship in tight loops: Design, prototype, and collaborate closely with engineers to test and iterate quickly, not through heavy handoffs, but through hands-on, ongoing collaboration.
- Pod contributor, team sync: Show up as a reliable design contributor within your product pod of PMs and engineers, and stay in sync with the broader design team to absorb patterns, maintain consistency, and share what you're working on.
- Builder's mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity and shipping rapidly, learning from what happens in production, and evolving your approach based on what actually works, not what looked good in a static mock.
- Growth mindset: Ask questions and seek feedback early and often. Treat every shipped project as a chance to get sharper.
- AI fluency as core craft: Treat AI as part of your everyday workflow, continually experimenting with new tools and techniques to raise both the speed and quality of your design work.
