    What You'll Be Doing

Possible's Loan Management System (LMS) currently supports one primary loan product—a short-term installment loan. The leadership team now wants to support multiple loan types (e.g., installment loans, revolving credit, and line-of-credit-style products) from a single scalable platform. This challenge assesses your ability to design a complex platform migration strategy that balances reliability, compliance, and innovation while keeping active customers unaffected.

    Scenario: "The Multi-Product Transition"

The current LMS was designed years ago as a service, not a standalone product. It lacks unified tools for:

    • Audit and reconciliation across products
    • Clear separation of ledgers and amortization logic
    • Configurable repayment schedules and grace periods
    • Automated compliance reporting per state

You've been asked to design a strategy that transitions the LMS from its current form to a multi-product, auditable platform over the next 12–18 months—without disrupting active customers.

    You may assume:

    • The current system is partially service-based and not fully decoupled
    • You have access to engineering partners and data analysts, but you must define product direction and sequencing
    • Compliance requirements vary by state and must remain auditable throughout the transition

Record a video walking us through your approach, and submit a one-page LMS Modernization Roadmap with your AI usage declaration.

    What You'll Accomplish

Design phased migration strategies for complex financial systems that balance technical debt with new capabilities

Integrate compliance, auditability, and data accuracy as first-class product requirements in platform design

Lead cross-functional alignment across Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Leadership on shared platform milestones

Identify and mitigate risks in financial system transformations (repayment drift, audit lag, legacy dependencies)

Structure product roadmaps that sequence work from stabilization through scaling while maintaining customer trust

How Your Work Will Be Scored

    Systems & Product Thinking (40 points)Compliance & Audit Awareness (25 points)Cross-Functional Leadership (25 points)AI Usage Transparency (10 points)

    What to Submit

    Submission Guidelines

    Submit the following two deliverables:

Deliverable 1: Video Response File Name: PossiblePM_Video_[YourName].mp4

    Requirements:

    • 7-10 minutes continuous recording (one take)
    • Address both sections: Introduction and Challenge Response
    • Clear audio quality
    • Demonstrate your product thinking and systems strategy
    • File format: MP4, MOV, or any standard video format

Deliverable 2: Written Artifact - LMS Modernization Roadmap File Name: PossiblePM_Roadmap_[YourName].pdf or .docx

    Requirements:

    • 1 page maximum
    • Provide a short, structured outline describing:
      • The top 3 priorities for stabilizing and scaling the LMS
      • A simple phased roadmap (e.g., 0–3 months, 3–9 months, 9–18 months)
      • Key risks and mitigations (e.g., repayment drift, audit lag, legacy code risk)
      • Metrics for success (e.g., reconciliation accuracy, rollout adoption rate, incident reduction)
    • Keep it concise—bullet points or lightweight visuals are encouraged
    • Must include AI Usage Declaration

AI Usage Declaration (required in written artifact): ☐ I did not use any AI tools ☐ I used AI tools (briefly describe how, including prompts and edits)
